Once you've started the clock, you'll need to do all the following tasks within 48 hours.
- Scriptwriting
- Directing
- Costume design and creation
- Props, set design and building
- Shooting
- Editing
- Sound recording

Your Film Freedom means No Kick-off Days
No more inconvenient kick-off days. You choose your 48 hours to compete, but the clock's ticking once you have pushed the button. You must complete your shooting and editing within two days. We know it's a lot of work, but you can rise to the challenge. Inspire your team, and you'll release the creativity. You can do it! Oh, and we give you two extra hours immediately after your 48 hours finish to upload your film.
Lights, Camera, Action!
Anyone may participate in 48 Go Green Festival. Our event is global and online, for pros or amateurs, and open to all creative filmmakers. You must follow all the rules and complete your film within your chosen time frame. That includes script, direction, editing, shooting, sound recording, and all of those essential finishing touches.
Preparing to Make Your Movie Short
Before you start shooting, it's best to prepare. You don't know your elements yet, but here's what you can do in advance:
- Organize your team
- Cast your actors
- Choose your genre
- Procure your equipment
- Secure use of your locations
48 Go Green Festival 3 Elements
Your short film must include the required three elements: a line of dialogue, a prop, and a character.
These elements will be displayed on your website account in your profile section, immediately after you push the "Start My Competition" button.
Each of these is MANDATORY for your film to be a candidate for our short film competition.
- Line: must be recited as given with no variation or falsification.
- Prop: required to be seen for at least one scene.
- Character: can be the lead or in a supporting role, but must be present in at least one scene in the film.
This is your chance for your creativity to shine! The random elements are the only common factor in each film, so find a thought-provoking and exciting way to include them. If you insert them in a boring, unoriginal fashion, you are losing an excellent opportunity to show your ingenuity.
Reminder:ALL three elements must appear in your work somewhere. Even though there is no regulation about how they perform, if you omit any of these crucial elements, then your submission is INVALID.

Elements: Your film must include the three elements issued to you when you pushed the competition button.
Length: Your film must be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 9 minutes long. Longer entries or shorter ones will run a serious risk of being disqualified. One extra minute is allowed for credits, making a total running time of 10 minutes, but your film should not exceed 9 minutes. If it does run over, then disqualification is at the judges' discretion.
Format: You must save your work in one of the listed formats and include the title matter. See The Project Overview page.
Submission: You must complete your film within your 48-hour clock time, as recorded by the system. You have two extra hours consecutively after the competition time has finished in which to upload your film.
