Go Green gives you the possibility to experience a new kind of adventure. Artistic adrenaline will be running high. It's an incredible challenge to create a completed short film in just 48 hours, and there is an atmosphere of intense creativity for this festival. The bonus is that you will be doing your part to save the planet in the process!

The competition focuses on team work and a massive meeting of the minds of some of the most talented filmmakers the world over. All of the elements must come together to meet this deadline and get your story on screen. You'll have to be prepared and flexible, and bring with you all of your passion and creativity.

48 Go Green: Kick-Off Dates for 2012

48 Go Green will happen simultaneously around the world in three glorious events! Anyone with online access in cities and towns around the world can participate. The Kick-Off Event for Group A, will take place 7 PM your local time on Friday, March 9, for Group B the Kick-Off Event will be Friday, June 29, and Group C will Kick-Off on Friday, September 28.

Team Leaders must have access to a computer on the official starting date. At 7 PM your local time, all teams in your time zone will be sent an email with their assignment. Each team will receive a randomly generated Eco Theme, as well as the required elements for the film. Team Leaders must have access to a computer on the official starting date. From there on, your imagination is the limit! For the next 48 hours, the planet will be transformed into a world-wide movie set.

The production/creation of the film includes the following:

1. Script writing
2. Directing
3. Costume design and creation
4. Props and set design and building
5. Shooting
6. Editing
7. Sound recording
8. Processing
9. Production

If that sounds like a whirlwind of activity, that's because it is! All shooting must be done within the official 48 hours of the festival’s competition.

The only work that can begin before the official duration of the 48 Go Green Festival is the pre-production phase:

1. Organizing your team
2. Casting your actors
3. Procuring equipment
4. Securing use of locations

To be certified as an official entry of the 48 Go Green Festival, each participating team must comply with all existing rules and regulations, found here. The organizers of the Festival maintain the right to exclusively screen certified 48 Go Green Festival official entries.

All Official Entries of the 48 Go Green Festival 2012 can compete for the title of “GLOBAL BEST FILM OF 48 GO GREEN 2012.”

Anyone may participate 48 Go Green 2012, whether you are a professional or an amateur filmmaker. The only requirements are that you follow all rules, and complete and upload your film to the official website of the festival. Remember, complete means everything! Script, direction, editing, shooting, sound-recording, and any finishing touches we might have left out.

The Grand Prize for the leading film is a $10,000 cash prize, and a trip to Hollywood to show your film! Hollywood is where the magic of film comes to life. Think of the possibilities. You know the competition will be fierce, because you will be fighting for every director's dream come true!
