FAQ

NEW When you refer to local time – you mean the city in which I live?

YES, 48 Go Green will start at 7:00 PM (9:00) your local time, no matter where you are!

NEW I signed up for the 48 Go Green Competition. Do I have to complete any forms? Where do I send them?

Yes, you have to complete the forms found here.

All teams competing in the 48 Go Green will complete their paperwork and keep it in a safe place. If you are a finalist, you will be required to send us the paperwork:

1. In order to take part in the competition, should I have my own team or can you find me collaborators?

Stop thinking as if you were part of an Environmental Committee appointed by the government! Of course you must put together your own team! However, we can help.
Get on the Festival’s official website and put up an ad. From time to time, there are many creators searching to be part of a team. Check our ads regularly.

2. Are 48 hours enough to complete a short film?

This is clearly subjective. For hundreds of thousands of other participants that have taken part in competitions up to today, it has been more than sufficient. Of course, it goes without saying that, when we have the luxury of time, we can make masterpieces. However, how many monstrosities have filmmakers created with ample time? Time is important in the film market. Time is money, babe! It's all part of the challenge. Besides, when you only have 48 hours, you stop wondering and just begin shooting.

3. Can I submit my film half-finished in 48 hours so as not to lose my participation in the competition and finish it afterward?

First of all, this is not an option. Second, stop being so miserable. What do you mean, half-finished? You finish what you start. You’ve got a mission - to save the Planet, man!

4. Can I use part of a film I shot a long time ago if it matches the subject?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's cheating, and anyway, it's almost impossible. Even if you wanted to, you couldn’t. You will not know the Subject, the Character, the Line, or any details up to the Online Kick-off Event. Sure, maybe a picture or two might still make the cut, but this won’t be nearly enough, and it would be out of place and glaringly obvious in your film. It will also be a waste of time to try and figure out what matches where and how. Remember, you've only got 48 hours. Do you want to spend them that way? The best solution is to do it right - get your camera out and start shooting!

5. Do you offer the use of a place for editing or should I see to this?

What happened? Your buddy at Paramount flaked you out? You and your team are solely responsible for everything concerning the creation of your film.

6. How long should the film be?

All films must have a maximum duration of 4 to 7 minutes with 1 extra minute for end titles. That makes a total of up to 7 minutes.

7. Can my film be an animation?

Of course it can! What a great idea!
